Summer Projects
I know, I haven’t blogged in a while. But it’s about to get even busier around here. Typically it’s slow in the summer, but not this summer for me! We’re launcing a new and improved blog for prospective students, increasing our university’s presence on Facebook, and using more social media like Twitter. I am really frustrated because FCAdmissions is already taken for Twitter and I can’t figure out if I did it and just can’t remember the password, or someone stole it out from under me. No followers and no messages out so I guess that’s a good thing.
Also, I sort of volunteered for something with our database. The company that runs Continuum is thinking about starting a users group and I volunteered to be a part of the process. But I’m not sure what that entails. I’m looking forward to it!
That’s all for now. However, stay tuned. I am working on lots of projects that are blog worthy. I promise.

Slacker
I know. I’m a slacker. I swear I have a good excuse. We’re getting ready to roll out some big changes in the IT rookie arena here at Franklin College, so I’ve been trying to put it all together. Until I write about our new endeavor, let me just give you a brief update on a few things worth commenting on.
I came across a great blog post comparing my favorite sport to it’s lesser counterpart and the marketing lessons we can learn. I gave my two cents on the racing bit, but the marketing aspect is genius if you as me. Check it out here: http://doteduguru.com/id230-marketing-lessons-learned-ndy-500.html (Oh, and don’t believe all that Helio talk! He’s an open wheel guy for sure).
I’ve been doing a lot of twittering. I find it lets me vent and also give/receive quick information. I’ve never been totally interested in the WWDC, but yesterday I was hooked on what they were announcing. So I found out on Twitter! Well sort of, I found out of summarize, but that’s neither here nor their. The point is, I really wish I would have waited on the iTouch, because now there’s a $200 iPhone. Oh well. My birthday is coming soon… Maybe the best husband ever will let me get one! I’ll just have to be sure his Father’s Day gift if fabulous! Any ideas? I think he wants a GPS.
OK, back to contacting students, office retreat summary, project work, and GPS research. Oh wait, it’s lunch time… Maybe I can do all that after 1!
